As you attend and become part of the UBC family, we invite you to join with us in commitment to this local body of believers.
The following expectations for members demonstrate our emphasis upon the gospel, doctrine, and the accountability of the local church.
All members of University Baptist Church give testimony of a life changed by the gospel, having repented of sin and believed in Jesus' identity as the Son of God and his work of salvation on the cross as the only way of salvation.
This faith in Christ is demonstrated by baptism. We follow the biblical example of baptism by immersion.
ADHERENCE TO BIBLICAL DOCTRINE
As a member of University Baptist Church, we ask that you affirm our church beliefs and follow our members' covenant. A copy of these documents may be requested from the church office.
A pastor and one of our deacons will meet with you to hear your testimony of faith and baptism. This is a time for you to ask any questions about our church and for our leadership to affirm your understanding of the gospel and your desire to commit to Christian fellowship at the church.
University Baptist Church is a congregationally governed church, which means the church will affirm your membership. Our affirmation means that the church family accepts responsibility for you as a follower of Christ and will hold you accountable to the expectations of healthy church membership found in our church covenant.
